In the old house, Gelman,
but you're not there . . .
I, sweeping the new house, you
Locking the newer, towns
away from the cat,
each other, the nearest pharmacy.
Far too old to want a knee, too
blind; how is leaving her
bowl white an end to this?

I have NO idea what this means, but I somehow love it!
Hi Susan, thanks for chiming in! "Gelman" here is Juan Gelman, a poet who died at around the same time as our Amiri. I had been reading him—even translating his diary entries—the summer before ModPo 12.
